  • Open ICU
  • Physician will be a part of a cohesive team with great support
  • Multidisciplinary collaborative environment
  • Night shift only – 8p-6a or 10p-8a (but able to make it 8p-8a – most of our providers do prefer 12 hour shifts vs 10)
  • Total number of beds: 90 (20 OB)
  • # of ICU beds: 30 beds
  • Patients per day: 15-25 YES, WITH PA SUPPORT
  • Admissions: yes, AT LEAST 10 per night. More like 10-15 during the day
  • Required procedures: Intubation,  Non-Invasive  Vent Management, Lumbar Puncture, Adult Inpatient (ICU, CCU), Codes, ER Admission, Pre-Op Assessments, Med Surg Rounding. Pre-op assessments are rare. But they do happen.  Mostly when people come in as direct admits or through ER and have multiple comorbidities. These are expected for perm placements, but we offer training and proctoring. For locums, we will make some concessions, but they must be ACLS certified to work, so therefore should be capable of running a code. Night docs DO NOT round on med surg patients, but should be capable of responding to calls and needs of med surg patients.
  • ICU PERM PLACEMENTS MAY NEED TO RESPOND TO ICU NEEDS ON NIGHTS. HOWEVER, THERE IS A DEDICATED ICU NIGHT HOSPITALIST EACH WEEK, AS WELL AS RESIDENT COVERAGE
  • Do the hospitalists respond to codes and rapid response? YES, along with other providers
  • Is there mid-level support? ALWAYS
