The Dietary Manager position provides supervision and leadership for the Dietary Department, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and Joint Commission standards. This position directs and assists the preparation and serving of regular meals, therapeutic diets, cafeteria line, Meals on Wheels, and catered food. This position requires effective leadership skills, innovative problem-solving, excellent communication abilities, conflict resolution skills and flexibility. The manager acts as a resource person for the staff. The Dietary Manager consults and collaborates with the Registered Dietician regarding therapeutic diets, and to perform chart and log audits. The Dietary Manager is responsible for departmental and organizational Performance Improvement activities. This position requires the ability to work productively with other department heads and personnel. The Dietary Manager must be able to read write, understand English and possess basic computer skills, to include Microsoft Word and Excel. Due to changing organizational needs, work hours may vary.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma - REQUIRED
- Previous relevant management or supervisory experience or education- REQUIRED
- College degree in Food Science or Nutrition, Business Management, Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietetic Technician- Preferred
- 1 year experience in health care food services- Preferred
